Today’s GCSE results represent real success for Academy Transformation Trust and its secondary academies, staff and above all students. Today’s survey from the headteachers’ union ASCL reveals that 98% think the new GCSEs are tougher, primarily affecting children from more disadvantaged backgrounds, but our academies’ results show that we have not just held our own but shown real improvement.

GCSE results day is a day when students’ talents are celebrated and when their hard work is rewarded. I am so proud of all them all for the fantastic grades they have achieved – they can now be confident of going forward and doing well again in the next stage of their education.
I would also like to pay tribute to, and to thank the efforts of, all those who have supported our students and been alongside them every step of the way – their parents and carers, and our brilliant teaching staff.
The new GCSEs have presented a new challenge but I am delighted that ATT’s community has risen to the challenge.
