We are proud to announce that Mildenhall College Academy Year 13 Media Studies student Tierney Knights has won first place in the under 18 category of the East Anglian Film Archive (EAFA) Mash-Up filmmaking competition 2017, rewarding her with a £250 cash prize.
The competition which was open for entries between February and 4th September 2017 required submissions of short films (under 5 minutes) which had to contain at least 50% archive footage based around this year’s theme of ‘Today’s the Day’.
Submissions were judged on a number of criteria including, production skills, creativity, imagination, and how the candidate chose to interact with the archive film.
Tierney was presented with her prize during a screening event on Sunday 12th November at the Forum Auditorium, Norwich. Tierney’s film will added to EAFA’s collections, and preserved for the region.
“Overall it was an amazing opportunity and one that I would encourage anyone with an interest in film to get involved in. I was given interesting material to work with as well as the opportunity to see others interpretation of the theme – perfect for anyone looking to gain some experience in filmmaking.” Tierney Knights
