Laura Smith is a Primary Maths Lead for the Inspiration Trust. As a Primary Maths Specialist and NCETM PD Lead, Laura has spent the last two and half years leading on curriculum development and teacher training both within the Trust and across Norfolk and Suffolk, through the Angles Maths Hub.
Session: Rethinking Time
The teaching of time is complex. It is one most teachers dread teaching and students often struggle to master. But what if there were an alternative way to teaching time which did support conceptual understanding and was built on prior knowledge with minimal cognitive conflict? In this session, we will explore the design and implementation of such an approach and consider the possible impact for curriculum design.
