At the heart of the (often polarised) debate around AI use in schools is a fundamental question about what education is for, and what outcomes we value. This session explores why thinking about AI use is therefore not as simple as asking ‘is AI good for education’, and explores:

– What research really says about AI use in education
-The risks of cognitive offloading for staff and pupils, and how we might mitigate these
– The skills pupils and teachers need now and for the future
