Gary Aubin is the author of The Lone SENDCO and The Parent’s Guide to SEND. He is the Director of SEND Programmes and Networks for Whole Education and served on the Labour Government’s Curriculum and Assessment Review panel. Gary is also the Education Endowment Foundation’s SEND Associate.
Session: Using Research Evidence Around Professional Development to Drive SEND Outcomes
This session will look to apply the research evidence around effective professional development to schools’ work supporting pupils with SEND. It will look at the pitfalls around some current approaches to SEND-focused CPD, arguing that schools are well-placed to develop their own staff in relation to SEND, and championing some of the excellent practices in this area.
