Jon is Regional Director for the East of England at the Reach Foundation. Before that he was a primary school teacher and assistant headteacher. He has recently written a book on belonging for the Inner Drive series. He is the co-founder of Meno Academy.
Building Belonging in Classrooms
Belonging is everywhere at the moment (*stares at Ofsted*). So is it a fad, or a silver bullet? It’s neither, of course, but it is fast becoming misunderstood, morphing into everything and therefore nothing. In this session, Jon will draw on the key insights from the research on belonging, and what that means for leaders and teachers. Expect tips on how to engage in ‘situation crafting’, wise interventions, and positive distinctiveness.
