Increasingly, a drive for widespread, consistent use of effective teaching practices is seen in tension with a desire for teacher autonomy. How can trust and school leaders empower teachers to develop and use their professional judgements, whilst driving educational improvements and disseminating high-quality practices at scale? This session will suggest that these goals might not be mutually exclusive, and explore what a professional development offer that addresses both goals might look like
