James has over 20 years of teaching experience in a number of state schools in East Anglia — including Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Suffolk. He has dedicated his career to raising standards and nurturing a culture of excellence in education. His journey in whole-school leadership began internationally, gaining senior leadership experience at a private school in Dubai, which laid the foundation for a strategic approach to school improvement and curriculum development.
Since joining MCA in 2019 as Vice Principal for Curriculum and Attainment, James has been committed to continuous improvement and collaboration. In 2024, he proudly took on the role of Principal, rooted deeply in a remarkable community of families, staff, and students.
“My values in education are clear and enduring: learning is a cooperative act grounded in shared goals, trust, and mutual respect. I believe in developing the whole person — nurturing academic achievement alongside character, wellbeing, and aspiration. I view the partnership between school and home as essential, and I want every member of our community to see learning as the most empowering gift that we can receive. Every young person deserves the greatest possible education, and I am committed to ensuring that we provide a first-class public service.”
