Roland has been a practising Solicitor for more than 25 years, encompassing a wide range of sectors, including education. With a primary focus on the commercial sector, he has worked with both national and international companies, as well as numerous public sector bodies, including providing direct advisory support to the Government on major projects. Roland has supported clients with large and diverse property portfolios, in addition to managing numerous internal change initiatives. His expertise includes navigating the challenges of the Covid pandemic and developing alternative business models for service delivery, alongside optimising the use of supportive technologies.

Roland currently serves as the Chair of Governors at a Girls school, having joined its governing body approximately six years ago. He has also provided governance support to other Academies, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), and a primary school federation. Roland has supported higher education institutions, having been a member of the Employers Board at a University for several years and, more recently, as a Trustee at another university.
