As a leader I believe credibility is vital. If I want someone to do something, I need to be leading by example. Being aware that as a leader there is still so much to learn and being willing to learn is important to me – I am always trying to be better.
ATT has given me the opportunity to spread my wings and provided me with excellent professional development. I have really enjoyed my first year with the Trust and feel I have learnt so much in a short period of time.
Over the year, I have grown as a leader and as a person. Previously, I was faculty leader for more than a decade, a SCITT lead subject Tutor for eight years and spent three years on an extended senior leadership team. I feel this leadership experience has put me in a good position for my role at The Dukeries Academy. Learning from experience has been key to my development, reflecting on what works well and what could be done better.
I completed my NPQSL not too long ago and love the EEF implementation framework. I try to use it to guide my decision making.
