ATTI promotes apprenticeships for both our teaching and non-teaching colleagues to provide high quality, role specific training. We work mainly work with LMP Education as a provider, but also support our colleagues and school leaders to identify alternative apprenticeships which address training needs for individuals and our academies. We aim to use the apprenticeship levy funding to offer quality learning across all directorates and in all roles where apprenticeships are appropriate.

Early Years Educator Level 3

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

Early Years Educators, and other roles such as nursery practitioners and childminders, are highly trained professionals who play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. They work in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, preschools, reception classes and as childminders. They will be either working on their own, or supervising others, to deliver the EYFS requirements set out by the Government for the learning, development and care of young children from birth to five years.

Key knowledge, skills and behaviours:

  • Meeting the care needs of individual children such as feeding, changing nappies and administration of medicine
  • Developing strategies for support
  • Working in partnership with other colleagues, parents/carers, and other professionals to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Planning and supervising child-initiated and adult-led activities which are based around the needs and interests of each individual child
  • Using appropriate technology to support learning
  • Supporting children to develop numeracy and language skills through games and play

Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

The broad purpose of this occupation is to be a proactive and influential practitioner, working directly with children and skillfully leading day-to-day practice at an operational level. As active practitioners, they are effective role models of play-based learning, supporting others to develop their own practice. They are highly skilled professionals who take an operational lead for the care, learning and development of all young children, adapting to individual needs in order to facilitate an inclusive and holistic provision. They engage with sector developments both locally and nationally, with a commitment to developing their own professional and educational competencies.

Key knowledge, skills and behaviours:

  • Promoting health and wellbeing, self-regulation, and resilience of all children through learning-rich environments, opportunities for challenging play, and a healthy attitude towards risk-taking
  • To lead and manage across the area, aspect, or environment for which they are responsible
  • Provide playful, sensitive interaction opportunities that reflect children’s needs, interests, and motivations in order to facilitate and extend deep-level learning

Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

An accounts or finance assistant is an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an effecient and accurate finance function within a business. The assistant is responsible for assisting a team of accountants with junior accounting duties. These vary depending on the team structure and size. The accounts or finance assistant’s work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure the records are correct, recording of cash, and data entry.

  • Understanding how accounting systems and processes allow a business to keep track of all kinds of financial transactions
  • Develop an understanding of the differences between financial management and accounting
  • Understand what makes an organisation successful through buying and selling products, or supplying services to a market

Assistant Accounting Level 3

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

An assistant accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work predominantly as either an assistant accountant within practice or within the finance function of an organisation. Part of their role will involve assisting in day-to-day financial activities such as data entry, month-end management accounts, and year-end financial statements. Additionally, the assistant accountant may be involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns, or assisting in the preparations of tax computations

 

Key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

  • Understanding the transactional processes and support provided by accountancy firms, or the accounting function within an organisation
  • Understanding the relevant Ethical Standards to protect their own, and their organisation’s, professional reputation and integrity
  • Effectively recording and analysing financial data at the appropriate level using the organisation’s standard tools and processes
  • Working both independently and as part of a team within the organisation’s needs

Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Level 4

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

Individuals in the role of a professional accounting or taxation technician will have responsibility for creating, verifying and reviewing accurate and timely financial information within the organisation by which they are employed, or on behalf of another organisation. This will be performed in order to meet relevant ethical, professional and legal standards, and will utilise the individual’s knowledge of the business’ systems and processes, as well as standardised accounting and tax practices. This role may exist in an accounting practice, a professional services company, HMRC, or the accounting function of another business or organisation.

 

Key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the core elements of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting standards, enabling the accountant to create and report financial information to the account users
  • A professional taxation technician will have knowledge and understanding of the core elements of personal and business taxation and accounting principles. They will be required to prepare tax calculations, prepare government forms, understand and comply with filing deadlines, and document client paperwork.

HR Support Level 3

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

HR professional in this role are likely either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees, or are the HR manager of a small organisation. Their work includes handling day-to-day queries and providing HR advice. The contribute to a range of HR processes from transactional to relatively complex, recruitment to retirement, using appropriate systems and processes to keep records providing relevant information to their business and helping to implement changes. They typically provide advice to managers on a wide range of issues, informed by company policy and current law, giving guidance that is compliance and avoids errors that could expose the organisation to legal risk.

  • Providing HR advice
  • Working on a range of HR processes, varying from transactional to relatively complex issues
  • Working with the business on implementing HR changes
  • Using HR systems to keep accurate records

Teaching Assistant Level 3

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

Teaching assistants work in primary, special and secondary education settings across all ages encompassing special educational needs and emotional vulnerabilities. The primary role of the teaching assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning, either in groups or individually, ensuring students understand are equipped to complete the work set. Promoting self-belief, social inclusion, and high self-esteem, plays an important part in ensuring the wellbeing of pupils, helping them to thrive in positive, nurturing and safe environments. TAs play an active role in supporting learners to access the curriculum.

Community Health & Wellbeing Worker Level 3

Apprenticeship Provider: BeReady

 

The Wellbeing Champion Apprenticeship offers education professionals the opportunity to learn up-to-date, practical coaching and counselling skills, backed up by relevant research, in order to help support and coach colleagues and students. Underpinned by additional elective modules, the programme develops the necessary skills to promote wellbeing within your academy.

Predominantly online, the Wellbeing Champion Apprenticeship is particularly useful for those who want to hone their skills to actively listen, provide feedback and use coaching and counselling to support and signpost.

Learners are dual professionals who wish to use up-to-date professional knowledge and skills to support both colleagues and students across the education sector, or indeed in any employer setting, at any level. The programme delivers value to the organisation, its staff and its students. It can also be seen as a reward for those colleagues being asked to undertake additional responsibilities, as learners will gain new professionally recognised skills and qualifications.

Target Audience: This course is suited to individuals tasked with wellbeing support for colleagues and students across their academy, who would benefit from education-focused, practical training and a recognised qualification in this area.

Children, Young People & Families Manager Level 5

Apprenticeship Provider: LMP Education

 

In this role, you will ensure direction, alignment and commitment within your own practice, your team, your organisation, and across partnerships, to help children, young people and families aspire to do their best and acheive sustainable change. You will build teams, manage resources, and lead new approached to working practices that deliver improved outcomes, and put the child, young people and family at the centre of the work.

  • Understanding current research and developments in the health and social care sector
  • Understanding the theories underpinning the learning, motivation and development of individual teams
  • Understanding the role of the team and the internal and external environments in which it operates

Career Development Professional Level 6

Apprenticeship Provider: Education and Skills Training and Development

 

Career Development Professionals are typically found in educational settings, training organisations, careers and employment services and human resource/learning and development departments in both the public and the private sector.

The broad purpose of the occupation is to assist individuals and/or organisations before or during career transitions to develop long and short term career strategies. Transitions could include from learning to work, returning to the labour market, returning to learning, sector/organisation/management change, redundancy and pre-retirement choices.

Timeframe:  24 Months

Youth Worker (Degree Apprenticeship) Level 6

Apprenticeship Provider: Premier Pathways

 

This Level 6 apprenticeship course offers a BA Hons in Youth Work from the University of Roehampton. Fully funded by the apprenticeship levy, it allows school leavers and existing support staff the opportunity to get a degree without the associated debt.

 

 

Cost:  £20000, fully funded by the apprenticeship levy

Timeframe:  3 Years

Target Audience:  This is available to existing school support staff or school leavers that don’t already have a degree.

Provider: BeReady

The Senior Leader Apprenticeship plus MA in Educational Leadership, delivered by the National Institute of Teaching & Education (NITE) at Coventry University, is a taught course that’s focused 100% on education and designed to help you develop the skills needed for leadership in schools today.

Combining predominantly online learning with face-to-face delivery, the course includes two 3-day residentials in Silverstone, Northamptonshire.

The course champions the principle that effective leadership makes a significant difference to the culture of a school, the well-being and effectiveness of its staff and the quality of teaching and learning, all of which positively impacts on student outcomes.

By undertaking the course you will develop authentic practical skills through the use of The Harvard Business School Case Study Method, in which analysis and discussion of professionally useful approaches to real life scenarios help to develop the skills and principles of effective leadership.

 

Cost: £14,000, funded via the Apprenticeship Levy

Timeframe: Part-time, typically 2 years

Assessment: The course is designed for current or aspiring senior leaders in education, working in an existing leadership or management position in a primary or secondary school. The Senior Leader Apprenticeship is available to applicants in England. The MA in Educational Leadership is available in England. Applicants should typically have experience in a leadership role such as headship, deputy/assistant headship, head of department, head of year, head of house or similar.
