Sarah has joined our Executive Team as Director of Safeguarding after developing safeguarding practice across a large national multi-agency trust for the last three years whilst reading for a Masters in Safeguarding during her free time. Whilst responsible for embedding positive mental health and wellbeing across her previous MAT, Sarah worked with the Anna Freud Foundation and MHFA England to train staff and embed positive practice. Sarah has led on policy development, safeguarding training, analysis of safeguarding data, risk analysis and intervention as well as auditing safeguarding practice.
Sarah has ongoing projects with the NSPCC to develop tools for the education sector for Problematic Sexual Behaviour (PSB) and awareness podcasts on Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) and how to manage risks for leaders in education. Prior to her Safeguarding role, Sarah was a leader of education for five years and a teacher of GCSE and A-level History for the eight years before that. Sarah is married with 2 young daughters and lives with two unruly Dalmatians!
