Academy Transformation Trust is enjoying more Ofsted sucess with some incredible improvements made by our academies. Pool Hayes Academy in the West Midlands has been rated Good by Ofsted for the first time in its fifty-nine year history. Sutton Community Academy in Nottinghamshire has been transformed by its new leadership team, also rated Good by Ofsted!

These successes are testament to the hard work of colleagues across our Trust. We’re proud that our systems and processes are having a tangible, measurable impact on the lives of our learners.

Following the publication of Osfted Report of the recent inspection, Principal Patrick Butterell said: “I am delighted with the outcome of our recent inspection that has graded Sutton Community Academy as ‘Good’. The report recognises the hard work and tenacity of our staff and students and the support of our families and the local community”.

Report Highlights

  • Ofsted recognises SCA as “a muchimproved school that sits proudly at the heart of its local community”. This is testament to the hard-working community of colleagues at the academy, and the work of our supportive Trust which shares our knowledge and key values while respecting the individuality of the institution and its local area.
  • Ofsted stated that “there is a strong culture of safeguarding. Safeguarding leaders are knowledgeable”. Sutton Community Academy’s leadership team has made amazing progress to improve safeguarding in the school, ensuring that every child is offered the care and attention necessary to identify and address their needs. As a Trust, we’ve been able to support safeguarding by sharing best practice, utilising connections between safeguarding teams across our academies and developing training and resources specific to the localised needs of each.
  • According to Ofsted, “pupils have many opportunities to develop their talents and interests”. We’re also delighted to see academies demonstrating a committment to extracurricular enrichment and different approaches to learning. We look forward to seeing SCA’s trip to Everest Base Camp on the front of our Trust Magazine next Easter!

“This is a wonderful achievement for all of the staff, parents and pupils of the academy and I am delighted to see their hard work recognised with such a positive report. But this is also a wonderful result for the community as it is the first time in the history of the school that Pool Hayes has been judged as a good school by OFSTED. Congratulations all!”
