As an academy trust, we strive to offer exceptional quality of education for all of our learners, as well as providing safe and supportive working environments for our colleagues. To ensure this, we take a rigorous approach to academy improvement, ensuring that high standards are aligned across each of our schools. Our methods are showing clear impact- we’ve received a string of positive Ofsted outcomes, and we’ve even been shortlisted for the 2025 MAT Excellence Award in Transformation and Impact.
How Does CSI Education Work?
Through robust challenge, we swiftly identify and address areas of under-performance, complacency or low expectations. In equal measure, we deliver support through the capacity and expertise available across our Trust. Finally, a bespoke improvement programme is devised by our expert Education Team to respond to the individual need of the academy.
Throughout our work on academy improvement, we’re guided by key aims:
- to ensure frequent and effective collaboration across all our academies
- to enable the expertise of our Education Team to be shared and implemented, whilst ensuring alignment with Operations, Finance, HR and other services
- to evaluate the impact of CSI work to enable continuous improvement
- to ensure our approach is evidence-based and informed by new research

“The trust has a secure understanding of the strengths and areas for development of the school. It provides the school with effective challenge and support. Staff feel that leaders support them well”

Our Approach to Collaboration
We place huge importance on horizontal improvement, which emphasises our practice as a cohesive Trust. By fostering collaboration between our academies, we break down internal barriers to plan and implement improvements that leverage our collective capacity.
A key element of our collaborative practice is the use of our professional communities. Established in 2022, the success of our leadership and curriculum communities in driving academy improvement led to the recent expansion of this initiative to include support staff across a broad variety of roles. Each community includes a representative from every academy, selected for their ability to lead context-specific improvements and cascade knowledge to those in connected roles. This allows us to share the skills and expertise of our colleagues across our Trust, aligning all our academies at a higher standard of practice.
“The trust provides strong support to the school… Leaders receive helpful support from peers in other trust schools. This helps their wellbeing”
